sacred texts
Primary-source branch for the world's major religious and philosophical canon texts. These are treated here the same way Euclid's *Elements* is treated in 01-mathematics: as primary historical artifacts whose exact words matter and must be citable forever, not as truth claims. The branch holds confirmed public-domain or permissively-licensed digital editions (Masoretic/Leningrad, KJV/ASV/WEB, SBLGNT, Tanzil Quran, SuttaCentral Pali canon, Rig Veda, Upanishads, Tao Te Ching, Avesta, Nag Hammadi, Pyramid/Coffin/Book-of-the-Dead, Enuma Elish, Popol Vuh, Presocratic fragments, Confucian Four Books). Commentary, theology, and interpretive synthesis are explicitly out of scope — those belong downstream in application folders, not in canon. SOURCES.md is the verified source index; the actual mirror of texts is a later ingestion bead.
