Brian: Yeah, I can imagine. Kip: His apology and Oppenheimer didn't... And so it was a momentous moment in the history of science that, of miscommunication between these two great men. Brian: And was it an arrogance on Oppenheimer's or just a- Kip: No, no. Brian: ...feeling bad? Kip: I don't think so. Brian: Or what do you think the emotion was? Kip: I think he was just ... I don't know. I didn't know. I knew Wheeler better than I knew Oppenheimer. Certainly Oppenheimer is capable of arrogance, but I don't think so. …

I happen to be fortunate because I did a lot of critical care neurosurgery when I was a resident and that is how I learned about these special pulse oxes cuz it turned out many times we would have people come in who had drowned in cold water and we would code these people for a period of time and one of the things that we noticed is that people did really well after we did supportive care and warmed them up and we gave them methylene blue. That's part of the reason why neurosurgeons are experts in using methylene blue when people have a problem with hypoxia. Who's the other specialty that lear…

And it turns out when you know this story and you're a neurosurgeon who decides to go back in four years ago to start taking care of all these people that are getting told they're going to die and magically I know how to fix this problem because I know about the paramagnetism of met hemoglobinia and I know how to flip the switch using a paramagnetic drug. Guess what magically happens? FiO2s come down. We can get people off their dopamine drips. We can get them back. The family gets told that they're going to die and next thing you know they're walking out of the ICU in 24 to 48 hours. What is …

I said, "Well, since Van Wick and since Pop told us that dirty chemistry involved nitrogen and all these atoms, there should be another remnant, a lineage, a vestage of the GOE in us." And guess what I found? There is vitamin A and vitamin D. Why? Don't you find it interesting that also on the inner mitochondrial membrane there's a vitamin D receptor. So everybody knows that the sun can't penetrate our body. So why would God or evolution put the vitamin D receptor on the inner mitochondrial membrane? Then I thought about it and I thought about where it was located and I said wow it's right bef…

I also saw how full spectrum light and hydrogen peroxide can be used in a surgical practice to help recovery in spine and in intracranial surgery. The man can be very convincing with the barrage of facts he throws at you. This is because he is intensely passionate about changing medicine, yet appears laid back and humble about what he has uncovered. I see this as optimism and confidence in what he knows.

I assured him that it was not only possible but based upon a scale of science he or I did not learn in medical school or residency. I believe I infuriated him when I told him that I believed he was a sucker to his beliefs that were given to him by his mentors in radiology. I know it was an “ego blow” to have a surgeon tell him, that something he was supposed to be an “expert in” reading had a lot more depth of information about matter and energy than he could fathom.
